Xiaomi Co-founder and President Lin Bin confirmed on Sunday that the new product scheduled for release at Tuesday’s Xiaomi product launch will be the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, only three months following the release of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2.
According to announcements on Weibo, the Redmi Note 3 will be the first Redmi product with a metal unibody design and fingerprint recognition. The Redmi Note 3 will be equipped with a 5.5 inch 1080P screen, a five megapixel camera in the front, a 13 megapixel camera in the back, and a 3060mAh battery.
The phone will be powered by a Helio X10 processor and will likely feature a 2GB RAM version and a 3GB RAM version, both running the MIUI 7 operating system. The 2GB version is expected to be sold for RMB 999(USD 156) and the 3GB version is expected to be RMB 1099(USD 171). According to currently available information, the Redmi Note 3 will come in three colors gold, silver and gray and more details are expected to be announced at the press conference on Tuesday.
According to insider news and photos published by Xiaomi, other products to be launched at the conference may include a new tablet and a smart watch.
