China’s Ymatou partners with Paypal to offer cross-border transactions

Ymatou.com, a cross-border e-commerce platform dealing with overseas retailers announced on Wednesday a strategic cooperation with Paypal. The e-commerce platform claims it is the first Chinese cross-border e-commerce company to have established a partnership with Paypal, according to NetEase news portal.

The two companies will combine their strengths to improve the user experience during cross-border online shopping for both Chinese customers and overseas retailers.Ymatou is a rising cross-border e-commerce platform with about half a million registered users.

For Paypal, the cooperation will help it to tap the online payment market in China, an important and strategic goal it has set since it announced it would improve its service system in September.

In February, more than 200 Chinese small e-commerce retailers claimed to have legal disputes with PayPal due to the freezing of their Paypal accounts, according to Sina news portal.
