Didi Kuaidi today announced a new service enabling users to summon a designated driver for third parties in the latest version of its Didi Chuxing app.
Users are now able to call designated drivers for friends and family in various different situations. As China’s traditional Spring Festival holiday approaches, parties, dining and drinking will increase. It is estimated the service will be in high-demand under these circumstances.
The designated driver service is not only for users to avoid drink driving, it could also be used for traveling and business trips. Didi recently launched the ‘Designated Driver +’ service to feed this demand.
For using this new service in-app, from the ‘Designated Driver’ page, users can select a designated driver either for themselves or for other people. In terms of payment, either the user who made the order or the passenger can choose to pay.
