On Tuesday, Didi Chuxing announced that its game center will soon be closed, due to the rearrangement of the company’s business. From today on, Didi Chuxing will terminate its top-up Android and HTML5 games service.

The game center will keep running for now, according to the legal requirement of the 60-day term of protection after the termination of the top-up service. Barring any surprises, the service will likely be closed in two months. Didi Chuxing has launched 35 games in total, mostly on the Android game center.

Didi promoted the game center online by sending out discount coupons. It could be a means for the company to bring in revenue and create user stickiness. Its advantage is its large user base – according to official data from 2015, it has more than 200 million active users across China.

Didi hasn’t revealed the detailed causes for the closure. Some analysts pointed out that Didi Chuxing might lack the professional and internal resources to operate the project, NetEase news portal reported.
