Didi Kuaidi launched its new Express Pool service on Tuesday in over 20 cities, including Beijing, Chengdu, and Guangzhou, expanding its service in even more cities.
The newly-added “Express Pool” function costs users less than Didi Express, and saves them more waiting time compared to Didi Carpooling.
This economical and more efficient function helped Didi complete 6.5 million carpooling requests in only a month during its trial period in six cities. After it was introduced to 8 additional cities, a total of 5 million carpooling orders were completed in one week in 14 cities.
Didi also said that it now provides private-car hailing services in 259 cities. It claims that it holds over 90% of the market share in Beijing, the world’s top ridesharing city.
Last Tuesday, Analysys International released a report indicating that Didi Kuaidi leads China’s private car-hailing market with 83.2% market share for quarter three, with rival Uber tailing behind at 16.2% and UCAR at 13.4%.
