Lyft has formed a new partnership with Ola from India and GrabTaxi from Singapore to expand its reach in Asia, following a partnership with China’s Didi Kuaidi in September. Besides allowing passengers to hail cars and other forms of transportation through all platforms as they travel between the US and Asia, the companies will also share information on new technology, new products, and knowledge of their respective markets.
This move allows Lyft to cover China, SE Asia, India, and the US and gives the company leverage against Uber, which is in 67 countries, while Lyft has no offices outside the US.
Didi Kuaidi’s reach will also be expanded by this global rideshare partnership, as it has invested in all three companies in its attempt to keep pace with Uber overseas.
