Only two months after Xiaomi introduced its 60-inch Mi TV 3, the company is bringing out a new version of a 4K display TV with a screen size of 70-inch and a price at RMB 9999 (USD 1540), reported Sohu IT news on Thursday.

According to Xiaomi’s official website, the 70-inch Mi TV 3 continues Xiaomi’s TV design with a separated display and mainframe, which will be connected by a single cable called the MiPort. This design allows customers to upgrade the mainframe, which is less costly, without having to buy a new, expensive display, says Xiaomi.

This new TV will feature an imported original Sharp 4K display with a resolution of 3840×2160 fitted into an ultra-thin metallic frame of 12.9mm. It is equipped with a quad-core MStar 6A928 processor based on Cortex A-17 architecture with Mali 760 GPU.

This new device will come with an internal storage of 2GB DDR3 and a flash memory of 8GB eMMC5.0. It supports connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.1.

Sohu IT says the price of 70-inch 4K TVs from other brands all exceed RMB 20,000, according to prices on JD.com and Suning.com. Compared with its competitors, Xiaomi is apparently aiming to provide Chinese people with premium hardware for a low price.

The 70-inch Mi TV 3 will reportedly be available before the Chinese Lunar New Year.
