58 Daojia, a Chinese home service provider, has launched its housekeeping business in 28 Chinese cities including Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. It now has 12,000 registered housekeepers, TechWeb reported on Tuesday.

58 Daojia or “58 to home”, a subsidiary of China’s largest classifieds platform 58.com, was founded last September. It offers home services including cleaning, carwashing, same-city delivery and beauty services in over 30 cities. Li Ying, general manager of 58 Daojia, says traditional housework agencies are small and most staff are not properly trained, so it’s hard for agencies to solve the problems of safety and after sales service.

58 Daojia will introduce a leading certification system for professional housekeepers. The system will register housekeepers’ ID and background check information, and test the professional skills of housekeepers.

“58 Daojia has a client service team of 300 staff who provide 24/7 service. A service system that tracks customer feedback and gives other users information about the housekeepers,” Li said.

Li added that 58 Daojia will work with the Ping An Insurance Company to launch insurance products for users, who can be compensated up to RMB 250,000 (USD 38,000). Users can get a full refund within three days.

Besides traditional services such as cleaning and laundry, 58 Daojia added 12 customized courses for professional skills including western cooking, pet-sitting, and gardening.

The platform’s major competitor is home service platform 1jiajie, which has plans to go public.
