Travelers in China will now be able to use Alipay to buy tickets at China’s bus stations, according to NetEase.
In the upcoming Spring Festival, passengers will be able to use the new service in 375 long distance bus terminals in 17 provinces across China. Customers only need to open Alipay, scan the QR code at the station and make their selection from the bus schedule that comes up. After they pay and receive their ticket, they can set off on their journey. This new system will eliminate the need to look for change and result in shorter lineups.
The company is also offering promotions from Jan. 15 – Feb. 3 for customers using Alipay at long-distance bus stations.
NetEase reported that passengers can now use Alipay to pay for tickets at ticket windows or ticket machines in 500 bus stations in over 200 cities across China.
