Tencent’s financial report for the last quarter of 2015 is out. The company’s profits in Q4 totaled RMB 7.2 billion (USD 1.1 billion), a 21% year-on-year increase. Its total revenue during the period was RMB 30 billion.
It also announced annual results, reporting RMB 102.8 billion in total revenue in 2015, a 30% year-on-year increase. Its profit for the year was RMB 29 billion, a 22% increase. Its net margin decreased to 28% from 30% last year.
At the end of 2015, monthly active users (MAU) on WeChat reached 697 million, a 39% YoY increase, and MAU on Mobile QQ reached 642 million, a 11% increase.
In the report, Tencent said bank handling fees from WeChat Wallet transactions amounted to over RMB 300 million for January 2016, leading it to introduce a new policy charging users for transactions in March.
