Chinese smartphone maker Nubia unveils Z11 Max with C. Ronaldo

After the Z11 Mini launched in April, Chinese smartphone maker Nubia introduced Z11 Max, a new member to the Z series smartphones, on Tuesday in Beijing.

The Z11 Max is Nubia’s first smartphone launched after Portuguese soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo became its brand spokesman in May.

“The Z11 Max comes big and different,” said the general manager of Nubia Mobile, Ni Fei, at the launch party.

The most notable feature is the screen size. The Z11 Max has a six-inch Super AMOLED display screen, while the smartphone’s size is only a little bigger than an iPhone 6 Plus. It has a large capacity battery at 4,000mAh, which, according to Nubia, can ensure a 2.82-day normal use time. Additionally, it supports quick charge.

The Z11 Max is powered by a Snapdragon 652 processor. It has 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM. The combination of a 16 megapixel back-facing camera and an eight megapixel front-facing camera will help continue Nubia’s reputation for photography. The fingerprint scanner is located on its back.

Users can divide the smartphone’s screen space into two parts and carry out two independent operations at the same time. With Nubia’s real time beautification technology, users may come out with a better appearance in video chats with others.

Nubia received RMB 1.9 billion (USD 293 million) in financing from China’s major electronics retailer Suning in December 2015. Ni announced in April that their goal for shipments in 2016 is ten million units.

The Z11 Max comes in three colors at RMB 1,999 (USD 304). It can be pre-ordered on the company’s official website. It will go on sale on its official site, China’s major online shopping platform Tmall.com, and Suning.com.
