Tech Junction VII: Come and get the First Experience of VR in China

TJfinal

VR gadgets are absolutely the “hottest” tech this year. In China alone, they’ve sucked in millions of dollars of investment. Analysts say that VR will be a revolution in the life of the otaku, aka Zhai Nan in Chinese. Imagine playing Summer Lesson – a flirting VR game – with your ideal girlfriend in a world that only belongs to the two of you! Well, maybe you might want something else, like Tilt Brush, a 3D painting simulator.

Anyway, this is your big chance to experience VR. In this event of Tech Junction, AllChinaTech has partnered with 87870, the largest VR news site in China, who will generously present some of the most popular VR games, alongside VR devices like the HTC Vive for event participants to interact with.

We’ll also have a Q&A session with Andrew D. Kim, CEO of 87870. He will share his insights on the current technologies and investment activity in the VR sector in China, knowledge that may help people of interest make strategic decisions this year and beyond.

Speaker: Andrew D. Kim, CEO of 87870

Andrew is the CEO of 87870 and former head of business at Oculus VR Korea. His professional career started at Boeing as a Design Engineer; he then served various key roles at Sun System, Motorola, Kineto Wireless and LG Electronics. Andrew obtained a Bachelor of Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University and Master of Engineering at Stanford University.

Host: Wu Nan, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of AllChinaTech

Nan is an award-winning journalist with honors from the Foreign Press Association in New York and the Hong Kong Journalists Association. For years she worked for top-notch media outlets, including the South China Morning Post and the Wall Street Journal. She co-founded the NetEase Annual Economist Conference (NAEC), a leading economic forum in China.

What do we do at Tech Junction?

A 30-minute Q&A with a well-known startup founder hosted monthly, each time with an appealing topic, followed by 20 minutes of open discussion with attendees and flexible networking time. Apart from offline events, we will publish online videos of dialogue highlights from our events on popular social networks.
