China’s drone maker ZEROTECH launches USD 480 camera to take on GoPro

ZEROTECH, a professional drone maker in China, on Thursday confirmed that the company has landed RMB 150 million (USD 22 million) in Series B financing, from Qualcomm Ventures and a handful of other investors. The founder of ZEROTECH, Yang Jianjun, said that the new capital will be used for R&D.

Aside from this, the company launched its pocket-sized action camera, ROLLCAP.

Starting as a smart drone maker in 2007, the company offers business products as well as consumer products. AllChinaTech in May reported that the company and Tencent jointly launched the pocket-sized DOBBY drone.

Zerotech’s continued its efforts, producing the GoPro-like ROLLCAP.

Priced at RMB 3,199 (USD 480), the camera weighs 219g. The ROLLCAP camera can shoot 4K videos for as long as 110 minutes. Together with camera accessories, it can be used in many outdoors activities, such as biking, driving, and jogging. It is like GoPro, but has one more function – real-time uploading of photos and videos.

The ROLLCAP camera will soon be available on major e-commerce platforms in China.
