Underwater robot startup Robosea receives USD 1.7 M for pre-Series A

Robosea is an underwater robot manufacturer that aims to produce robots that can be better used in aquaculture, water pollution monitoring, education and municipal pipeline detection. Based in Beijing, its main product is a fish robot called BIKI, which can be used 60 meters underwater. In addition, users can shoot 4K resolution videos with BIKI underwater. BIKI is priced at USD 699, and Robosea is now trying to sell BIKI overseas as it is more price competitive and the market is more mature.
Robosea’s angel financing round was from YouCheng Capital, and received this pre-Series A financing round from a government industry fund and TusPark Ventures. Robosea will use this funding to create new underwater robots and overseas marketing strategies.
Tuition startup Yimifudao receives USD 4.4 M funding

Financing status: RMB 30 million (USD 4.4 million) in financing in 2017
Yimifudao is an online tutoring platform that provides one-to-one tuition services for primary and secondary school students. Based in Shanghai, Yimifudao now has a teaching staff of more than 100 experienced full-time teachers. Yimifudao gives students online lessons through its platform, and students can learn via its app whenever they wish to.
Yimifudao received this round of financing led by Devine Capital and followed by Jingruijiaoyu, which also invested in Yimifudao’s last round financing with USD 1.4 million. This fund will be used to recruit more teachers and train its team for the reformation of college entrance examination and policy adjustment.
