Butter Camera is a photo editing app that features adding captions to photos to better express users’ emotions. Users can add poems or write interesting words in the captions. In addition to that, the app provides filters to beautify photos. Once photo enhancements are done, users can share the edited photos on social media. Butter Camera was founded in 2014 in Beijing, and has more than 18 million users with 1 million daily active users.
Butter Camera previously received financing from Sequoia Capital and Infinity Venture Partners. This Series A+ financing round was led by Decent Investment. The company will use this fund to enhance its algorithm technology to automatically beautify photos and expand its marketing plans.
Outdoor sports equipment startup EDCO receives USD 3.8 M in Series A round

EDCO is an outdoor sports equipment startup that aims to meet growing consumer demands for healthier lifestyles with its sports products and services. The startup sells outdoor sports equipment online and offline, and has 13 offline stores so far. Its main products include hiking, camping and skiing equipment. A Beijing company founded in 2017 by Chen Xiao, Chen worked in the sports industry for more than 10 years and has previously worked in Anta, Pathfinder, Kappa and other sports companies.
This Series A financing round was led by Chenhai Fund, and joined by Ameba Capital which also invested in EDCO’s Pre-A round. The funding will be used to expand its marketing team to enter bigger markets.
