IoT management platform Terminus receives USD 100 M for Series A+

Terminus is a city-level IoT management platform that mainly provides smart city solutions for office buildings, supermarkets and urban management.

The company provides smart gadgets, cloud services and a mobile app for its partners to meet demands on smarter management. This includes managing office buildings via mobile phones, easier access control in buildings and so on. In addition, to speed up promotion of smart city management, Terminus has established a financial subsidiary to support its related business partners with financing.

Launched in 2015, Terminus has so far completed 6,891 smart city projects in China, and its smart city solutions cover a total area of 554 million square meters with a population of over 8 million people.

Its Series A financing round was from IDG and China Everbright Group, but investors for this Series A+ round are undisclosed. The capital raised in Series A+ will be used to boost its business in IoT services, and increase its investment on the research and development of smart gadgets.

Big data platform Transwarp receives USD 34 M for Series C

Financing status: RMB 235 million (USD 34 million) Series C financing in 2017

Transwarp is a big data company that provides database software development support and services based on its core enterprise data technology. Its main business includes big data application and development, system planning, and deployment optimization.

Founded in 2009 in Shanghai, Transwarp formed a highly qualified development team specializing in big data development in China, and 85 percent of its team are development engineers holding doctorate or master’s degrees.

This Series C financing round was led by Tencent, and Transwarp has also reached a partnership with Tencent. Transwarp will provide Tencent with big data services and solutions based on cloud computing, and Tencent will help Transwarp expand its market influence in the big data industry.
