
Goodera raises USD 5.5 M in its Series A round led by NVP and Omidyar Network

Goodera (formerly known as NextGen), a Bengaluru-based CSR and sustainability management platform, has received USD 5.5 million for its Series A financing round led by Nexus Venture Partners and Omidyar Network. Varsha Rao, former Head of Global Operations at Airbnb, also participated in this round.
Nexus Venture Partners co-founder Naren Gupta will also join the Goodera board.
Goodera was founded in 2014 by Abhishek Humbad and Richa Bajpai. The startup helps companies manage their sustainability needs including strategy development, on ground implementation, reporting and audit across the value chain.
The Goodera technology platform uses innovative cloud, mobile, voice, and big data platform to enable corporates to manage their CSR and sustainability goals.
The company will use this investment to strengthen its product offerings, and expand in India and the U.S., and make technological advancements to deepen domain expertise and support customer acquisition and experience.
Goodera claims to support over 150 corporates and 40,000 non-profit organizations in over 30 countries. Its clientele includes Amazon.com, DELLEMC, Cargill, Tata Communications, Mahindra Finance, and GSK. The startup also claims that it has managed development capital of about USD 150 million and 6 million beneficiaries through its platform.
Micro delivery startup MrNeeds raises USD 500,000 for pre-Series A

Noida-based micro delivery startup MrNeeds has received about USD 500,000 in its pre-Series A financing round from a group of undisclosed investors.
MrNeeds was founded in 2016 by Hitashi Garg, Ravi Wadhwa, Ravi Verma, and Yogesh Garg. The startup offers subscription based delivery services via its smartphone app. The company delivers milk, bread, eggs, and other groceries.
The startup service is currently available in select places in Noida. The startup will use this investment to expand to other parts of the Delhi-NCR region such as Dwarka, Indirapuram, and Gurugram.
MrNeeds focuses on having its customers subscribe to its delivery services. It delivers daily essentials like milk, bread, eggs, personal care, home care, pooja products and other groceries every morning between 6 and 9am. MrNeeds’ official iTunes webpage states that it will not ask for a minimum delivery order value nor charges for delivery fees. The team claims to focus on optimizing the supply chain and reducing delivery costs.
The company’s cofounder Ravi Wadhwa said that the company’s costs per delivery are 50 to 70 percent lower than the industry standard. Cofounder Hitashi Garg also claims that the business has already broken even in several pockets that it operates in.
The startup recently claims to have delivered over 36,000 orders a month with 9,000 subscribers.
