Founders: GBS Bindra, Sushant Panda, and Tripat Preet Singh

Founded in: 2014

Financing status: USD 5 million Series A round in 2017

In-video discovery platform Tagos Design has raised USD 5 million for it Series A financing round from undisclosed investors.

Tagos Design was founded in 2014 by GBS Bindra, Sushant Panda and Tripat Preet Singh, with a global advisory board. Tagos empowers users to explore video by touch, opening whole new ways for users to interact, engage, advertise, shop or learn.

Charmboard is the Bengaluru-based startup’s main product – an in-video discovery platform. It makes videos a two-way experience by making videos respond to a user’s touch and allows the user to discover more from the videos. When a viewer watches content augmented by Charmboard, the viewer can tap his or her finger on the video or click with any pointing device to interact with a character or location, or discover a product without intruding on the immersive nature of the video content.

Last month, it was reported that Zee Entertainment acquired about 12.5 percent stake in Tagos by investing USD 2.5 million.

The startup will use the newly raised investment for product innovation, team expansion, and to enhance its user community.
