Tech Financing in India this week – O2O and E-commerce lead Indian investment

Our weekly column summarizes the tech financing highlights in India this week.

As reported by AlltechAsia, E-commerce and O2O startups attracted wide attention this week among Indian investors. Healthcare marketplace, 1mg, construction materials marketplace, Brick2Wall, and logistics marketplace, Flytta attracted large amounts of funding in the E-commerce sector. Beauty O2O platform, BigStylist, and food O2O, Monkeybox, also raised investors’ attention. BYJU’s, a potential unicorn, grabbed new investment from Chinese giant, Tencent. The new capital invested in SaaS startup, Noticeboard, is a sign of investors’ plans for India’s growing mobile and internet user population, which hit 465 million in June 2017.
