Andhra Pradesh-based data center and cloud service provider, Pi Datacenters, raised USD 90 million for a Series B round from undisclosed investors.

Pi was founded in 2014 by Kalyan Muppaneni, previously a member of the board of directors at Zebi Data India.

Pi is a green field software defined strategic data center and an enterprise class cloud service provider with a disruptive approach to technology, infrastructure and security. Pi provides solutions with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS), and a host of other cloud-enabled products and services. Their clients include Deutsche Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra Finance, Yatra.com, Snapbizz, Konsole Group, Acute, and Net Spider.

In December 2016, Pi Datacenters raised USD 23 million for a Series A round from Epsilon Ventures Partners.

Founder and CEO Muppaneni said that India is poised for an explosion in digital data with numerous technology initiatives adopted by the government of India and the various state governments. Data is integral to a nation’s security and data centers are the key building blocks for a nation’s infrastructure.

The startup will use the new investment to support the second phase of the new Pi Amaravati facility. The company will also spend the capital on the proposed construction of data centers in Kochi and Naya Raipur.
