Chennai-based online printing marketplace Inkmonk has raised around USD 750,000 for a seed funding round. The investment was led by Dubai-based VAMM Ventures. Two Japanese companies, Raksul, an online printing marketplace and Dena, an internet firm, also participated in the round.
Inkmonk was founded in 2015 by Isaac John Weasley and Surya Sankar. Weasley previously worked as a product strategist and designer at HackerRank, a platform that helps companies find the right developers based on their coding skills. Before launching Inkmonk, Sankar co-founded an e-learning portal Karpeer which helps engineering students in India.
Inkmonk is an online printing marketplace. The startup helps customers design prints online and discover printing shops across India. The startup claims to have gathered more than 1,000 sellers in over 1,000 cities in India. The extensive vendor network helps the startup ensure the printing quality and allows them to make fast deliveries. The startup has a streamlined order-tracking process starting from design reviews to delivery. Their clients include multinational companies like Google, Uber, Unilever, Paypal and others.
The startup will use the newly-raised investment to offer close to a 100 categories in the next few months, as well as, increase their marketing activities.
