Mother & baby-care startup The Moms Co. raises USD 1 M for Series A

Gurgaon-based online mother and baby-care platform The Moms Co. has raised USD 1 million for Series A funding round. The round was led by Saama Capital and DSG Consumer Partners.

The Moms Co. was founded in 2016 by couple Malika and Mohit Sadaani, whose desire for reliable products for their children inspired them create their own startup. Mohit Sadaani previously worked as a VP of one of India’s leading e-commerce platform, Snapdeal. He also worked at McKinsey & Company prior to that. Malika Sadaani worked as the relationship manager of investment bank Financial Institutions Group.

The Moms Co. provides natural, certified toxin-free skin and food products, such as body wash, foot cream, and caffeine free tea. The company uses natural ingredients like sea buckthorn oil, cocoa butter,wheat germ oil, etc. Co-founder Malika Sadaani says that the products are made with love and without compromise.

Earlier in March, the startup raised a seed funding round from Shripad Nadkarni, co-founder of food startup Fingerlix and beverage firm PaperBoat,Nestle executive Nandu Nandkishore, as well as senior partners from McKinsey.

The startup will use the newly raised investment to develop offline across large cities and implement trials in select tier-II towns.
