Bangalore-based online home interior designing platform MyGubbi has raised USD 2.7 million in a pre-Series A funding round.
The funding round was led by the family office of angel investor Firoze Irani along with: existing investors Vipul Parekh, co-founder of online grocery supermarket Big Basket; Ananda Kallugadde, co-founder of computer software and consulting company NeoBytes; and Rajesh K Murthy, president of technology services and consulting giant Infosys, among others.
Founded in 2015 by Umesh Sangurmath and Ravi Rao, both alumni of National Institute of Technology Karnataka. Sangurmath previously worked as director of Axis Capstone, a boutique home builder firm. He was also vice president and CIO of retail company Future Retail. Rao worked as a board member of VennFinity Online Service and a delivery lead of professional services company Accenture.
MyGubbi is an online home interior design and furnishing solution platform. It offers interior design solutions and home merchandise across various categories including kitchen, wardrobe, and storage. It provides users a range of designs showcased within a 3D rendering system. Its services include consultation, design finalization and execution – provided by techies, interior designers, and manufacturers.
The startup will use the newly raised investment to enhance its brand in existing markets, strengthen its backend, and set up a design center in Bangalore.
