Machine-learning tool provider X Brain raises funds to help businesses integrate machine learning

X-Brain, the provider of a cloud-based machine-learning tool called Daria (formerly, Alice), raised approximately USD 700,000 from POSTECH holdings, Capstone and other angel investors. In addition to this investment, X-Brain has been selected for the technology startup support program, TIPS, which is run by the government and has secured USD 1.2 million in total.
Daria, which was developed by X-Brain, is a machine learning tool that makes it easy to create models and apply them to existing tasks, regardless of the user’s understanding of machine learning technology. This is possible because X-Brain’s core technology, AutoML is applied in order to automatically analyze user-linked data and to find optimized models. In June last year, X-Brain came in third at the Automated Machine Learning Challenge, which was held during the ICML (International Conference on Machine Learning).
Jin-Young Choi, CEO of X-Brain, said, “Daria is being used for the number one social dating app in Korea called Amanda, and for Korea’s largest BPO company called Ubase. We plan to focus on small and medium sized IT companies who are having difficulty applying machine learning to their businesses. We plan to utilize this investment to expand our R&D team and launch our official version”.
