In a seed funding round on Monday, payment platform Cashfree raised USD 120,000 from Silicon Valley-based startup accelerator Y Combinator.

Cashfree was founded in 2015 by Akash Sinha and Reeju Datta. Sinha previously worked at e-commerce giant Amazon as a software development engineer while Datta worked in CRM at FabFurnish, a leading Indian online furniture and decoration company.

Cashfree is an online payment tool that connects businesses to vendors, banks, and third-party marketplaces and provides various services including automatic payment, transactions, fee deduction, etc.

The startup will use the newly raised funding for product development, recruitment, strengthening bank partnerships, and pursuing marketing expansion.
