Creator market platform OGQ raises investment from Naver

Social creator platform company, OGQ, announced that it raised strategic investment from Naver. OGQ is a company that operates a creator market platform, such as for music, stickers, and fonts, as well as copyright images and videos that are required for authoring.

After launching the service in April 2012, OGQ has been selected as one of the Top 8 Best Apps in the World on Google Play (December 2015) and has received outstanding feedback from users in India, America, Russia, Brazil and other countries. OGQ has over 1.6 billion cumulative content downloads, with over 3.5 million writers, and has grown into a platform where more than 30 million pieces of content are consumed per month.

In addition to the investment, Naver will actively cooperate with OGQ by finding the link between OGQ’s content, creators, and Naver services, in order to develop the social creator platform.

Jung-An Lee, Head of Investment at Naver, mentioned, “Naver decided to invest in OGQ as it is a service that considers the tastes of people all over the world, and we were impressed by the various images, music, videos, stickers, copyrighted images that are automatically suggested when authors write their content. We plan to expand in the related industries to promote digital content, and also look for investment opportunities in the related fields to support the industry as a whole”.
