Tech Financing in China this week – Parking services thriving

Our weekly column summarizes the tech financing highlights in China this week.

China’s car ownership has experienced an 11 percent increase over the previous year, only second to the United States. That number is expected to surge by eight percent every year to reach 280 million by 2021. With the increase of cars in China, the lack of parking lots has become a severe problem. This has opened new opportunities for the parking industry. This week a parking management startup called Sunsea Parking landed a USD 227 million financing round from the US-based venture capital firm, Warburg Pincus.
