Doctor social networking app Medlinker receives USD 60M for Series C

Doctor social networking app, Medlinker, received USD 60 million for Series C on December 6 to better connect patients with physicians and insurers.

Medlinker is a social networking app for doctors that allows them to connect with peers, facilitate referrals, and share medical records. Its services are available on iOS and Android mobile systems along with cloud service. Besides hosting discussions, news stories, and medicine-themed games, the service also allows patients to book medical appointments and submit questions for the medical community to answer. Additionally, it builds a platform to connect doctors online and offline and develop deep cooperations up and down the supply chain.

Medlinker was founded in 2014. According to the company’s official website, Medlinker’s platform hosts more than 430,000 verified doctors. Its services cover 34 provinces in China, and are applied in more than 25,000 hospitals. So far the company has collected over 130,000 cases from its partnered hospitals and institutions.

This new financing round was led by China Electronics Corporation Data (CEC Data), part of a state-owned conglomerate, with China Renaissance, existing investor Sequoia Capital China, and Tencent participating. Prior to this latest funding round, it received financing funding from Yunfeng Capital, Ce Yuan Ventures, and PreAngel, etc. The capital will be used to partner CEC Data to expand its ecosystem and set up trail health maintenance projects to connect patients with healthcare insurance and physicians.

Internet health management platform Etong Health Care receives USD 30M for Series B

Internet health management service platform, Etong Health Care, received USD 30 million for Series B on December 7 to serve more individual customers.

Etong Health Care is an online health management service platform that mainly offers third-party health management services to large and medium-sized enterprises. Its healthy management services include file recording, health assessment, health intervention, as well as health related education and consultation. Additionally, it offers private doctor consulting services. Etong Health Care also operates health examination services such as employment health check, physical examination, PET-CT testing, gene detection, and enterprise welfare health check services.

Founded in 2009 in Shanghai, its services are available in 635 hospitals from Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Wuhan, and Chengdu. As it mainly provides services to enterprise groups, it offers extra medical services, such as medical guidance, specialist appointment, admissions solutions, surgery appointment, secondary consultation, and particular examination arrangement services. By now, it has served over 5,000 enterprises with tens of millions of customers.

This Series B financing round was led by Vision+ Capital, with Morningside Group and real estate development and management firm, Yi Fang Group, participating as investors. The company plans to use the funds to further expand to the areas of health establishment, infirmary, enterprise stratified health management, overseas medical, medical tourism, liability insurance, and oral care, and build paths to serve more individual customers.
