Marsauto, which provides AI software for self-driving trucks, lands funding from K-Cube Ventures and Kakao Mobility

Marsauto, which provides AI software for autonomous trucks, announced that it has raised USD 0.4 million from K-Cube Ventures and Kakao Mobility, on December 4.

Marsauto seeks to revolutionize the existing overland freight industry by creating AI-based autonomous navigation software. By developing software for self-driving trucks, Marsauto aims to efficiently solve labor and cost structure problems in the existing cargo truck market. More practical data for its development will be acquired after consistent simulations and real tests.

Representatives from Kakao Mobility stated: “We decided to invest in Marsauto as part of various preparations for the coming autonomous generation. We intend to co-work with many startups in the field of mobility in the near future.”

Ilsoo Park, CEO of Marsauto, said: “Driving long distances with autonomous vehicles is highly difficult. Marsauto will continually focus on improving its technology for self-driving vehicles.”

Kijun Kim, partner at K-Cube Ventures, mentioned that the market is already trending from electric and shared cars towards self-driving cars. He then added that it has now become feasible to create high-quality data for software development as AI technology evolves. He expects to see Marsauto grow and that it will contribute significantly to the entire autonomous vehicle industry.
