Speech & language therapy startup, Orient Speech Therapy, received USD 25 million for Series B on December 20 to serve more customers.

Orient Speech Therapy is a speech and language therapy startup that provides professional and individualized training programs to children with autism, down syndrome, hearing disorders, and other disorders. Its services include assessing speech and communication capacities for children along with assessments by experts to help figure out children’s speech problems effectively. They also do screening exams of speech and communication capacities for preschool and school-age children and assessments as well as training plans; speech and language therapy for preschool and school-age children up to age 12 with speech disorders, as well as those for age 18 and above with speech troubles; speech and language theoretical knowledge and practical skills for various levels of families and individuals, and so on.

The company is working with Newcastle in Australia and KENT in the UK to develop various equipment, teaching aids, teaching materials, and software together. Currently, Orient Speech Therapy has an app available to assist therapy called “Xue Shuo Hua” in Chinese, which translates to “learn to speak” in English. Meanwhile, the startup is integrating online and offline services and resources to facilitate its business.

Founded in 2017 in Shenzhen, according to the company, by the end of 2016, it was operating nearly 20 centers in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and other cities, which covers more than ten cities and provides service for more than 300,000 families. Since was founded, it has attracted over 20,000 registered users.

This new financing round was from a group of investors, including Northern Light Venture Capital, Eight Roads Capital, F-Prime Capital and Long Hill Capital. Additionally, Eight Roads Capital and F-Prime Capital also joined Orient Speech Therapy’s Series A financing round. The capital will be used to further invest in market expansion to serve more customers.
