Restaurant recommendation platform Poing raises USD 3.3M, bringing its accumulated amount of funding to USD 12M

Trust Us, the developer of the restaurant recommendation platform Poing, announced that it has received USD 3.3 million in funding from KDB Development Bank and Global Brain. The accumulated amount of funding Poing has received is USD 12 million.

Poing provides restaurant recommendation services for customers and also helps restaurant owners manage and operate their establishments through its Poing Membership program.

Poing Membership offers restaurants maintenance, repair, and operation assistance (MRO), point of sale (POS) infrastructures, and customer relations management (CRM) services to decrease costs and increase the efficiency of operations.

Since 2014, Poing has allowed customers to make 220,000 reservations and leave 44,000 reviews on the site, making it the number one restaurant-related startup in Korea. 3,800 restaurants in Seoul, Busan, and Jeju have now partnered with Poing.

Jooil Hong, Head of Global Brain Korea, stated: “Poing is the definition of the food service industry both online and offline. Poing has a clear business model to grow mutually with restaurant owners and will likely see similar successes in the United States and Japan.”

Bum-Jin Jung, CEO of Trust Us, mentioned: “Poing will develop more as a fine dining food guide. It will also become more helpful to restaurants, and I think it will ultimately become a leading food business.”
