Toss Lab’s group-oriented messaging platform JANDI raises USD 5.2M to improve software

Toss Lab, the developer of group-oriented messaging platform JANDI, announced in January that it raised USD 5.2 million to improve JANDI’s software and expand its business. This round of funding was led by SBI Investment. The Korea Development Bank, Daekyo Investment, and Evergreen Investment Partners also participated in the financing round. Since Toss Lab’s establishment in 2014, it has raised funding from VCs such as Softbank Ventures, Qualcomm Ventures, and Cherubic Ventures. It has now accumulated USD 12 million in total funding.

Toss Lab’s JANDI is a cloud-based business messenger that can easily connect with external services. It is also a collaboration and work communication tool with useful features like group messaging, task and project management, and file searching and archiving services. Currently, over 88,000 companies, including large corporations like Ticketmonsters and NS Homeshopping, use JANDI as their work communication platform. Over 35% of those companies are paying clients.

Toss Lab is going to use the funding to accelerate JANDI’s services and expand its business.

Daehyun Kim, CEO of Toss Lab, stated: “Messengers for individuals are on the rise, but they are also widely used in work spaces which causes some problems. We observe the phenomenon not only in small companies but also in larger businesses. We will expand JANDI’s business so that it will reach more customers, not only in Korea, but also in other Asian countries.”

InJik Yi, Director of the leading investor, SBI Investment, said: “Toss Lab is a high-profile company that is growing rapidly in the co-working solution industry. 15% of the Lab’s customers are from overseas, and we anticipate that the company will grow steadily.”
