Luo Jun, co-founder and CEO of vacation home rental site Tujia, has just recently been included in Fortune China’s 2015, top 50 most influential business leaders in China.
Luo a newcomer to the list, is one of only a handful of tech entrepreneurs represented, with other well-known industry notables including, Alibaba founder Jack Ma, Tencent founder Pony Ma and , Robin Li, co-founder of Baidu.
If past achievements are anything to go by however, Luo appears to have staying power. A significant factor contributing to Luo’s inclusion on the list has been his incredible ability to fundraise.
“Tujia managed to raise 400 million RMB (US$63 million) in its first 400 days since the site went online,” Fortune China reported. In just over four years, Tujia’s business has expanded to covered more than 170 cities in China and over 135 travel destination overseas.
“My startup is a revolutionizing China’s vacation home rental industry,” Luo told Fortune China.
Luo was previously selected as one of the top 10 business pioneers by Fortune China in 2014 and appeared on the cover of the magazine in last year’s April edition. The 47-year-old serial entrepreneur is experienced in the real-estate business. In 2007, he founded a real-estate portal Sina Leju. In 2009, he established CRIC (China Real Estate Information Corporation), which was later listed on the NASDAQ. Prior to working in real estate, Luo held senior management roles in global firms, Cisco, Oracle and Avaya.
