Photos: iPhone 8 and Apple Watch 3 hit Chinese stores to little excitement

Apple’s new iPhone 8 and Apple Watch Series 3 hit store on September 22 after pre-orders started three days ago. However, iPhone 8 sales might be impacted by iPhone X as Apple fans are more eager to buy the radically upgraded iPhone X–pre-orders for which start on October 27–rather than the iPhone 8, which brings few changes from the last generation.

The same trend applies to Chinese consumers. Only a few people waited outside the Apple Store in Beijing’s Sanlitun area to pick up or check out the iPhone 8 on its first day in stores, a remarkable contrast to previous debut days when enthusiastic Apple fans lined up at the entrances of Apple Stores.
