H2 Ventures and KPMG annually select 100 fintech companies for their list, and Viva Republica was the only Korean startup that made the cut this year.
50 established innovators and 50 emerging stars appear each year on the FINTECH100. This year, 41 companies from the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), 29 American companies, and 30 companies from Asia (including Australia and New Zealand) were chosen.
It is the first time that Viva Republica was selected as one of the 50 established innovators.
H2 Ventures and KPMG annually pick 100 out of 1,500 fintech companies all around the world to appear on the FINTECH100. The decisions are based on companies’ accumulated funding amounts, ratio of funding increase, diversity, marketability and user traction, product quality, business models, and innovativeness.
SG Lee, CEO of Viva Republica, said that he felt very than happy that the company had been selected as one of the FINTECH100 companies this year. “It is surely an honor to be listed with other global fintech companies that are very competitive in the field, so the team feels extremely thankful to the users,” Lee said. He then mentioned that the team will surely grow quickly and steadily to become Korea’s leading fintech service.
Toss has closed a USD 48 million series C funding round from investors such as Paypal and Bessemer Ventures.
