Meet Xiaomi’s new USD 15 portable mouse

Xiaomi is introducing a smart-looking mouse, according to announcement made by vice president of Xiaomi Pictures Li Ming on Sunday on his Weibo page. The mouse is specially designed for the coming Double 11 shopping festival.

The mouse, priced at RMB 99 (USD 15) has been put on the shelf of Xiaomi’s official site, and will be available from this Friday, November 11.

Sized at 110.2×57.2×23.6 mm, the wireless mouse supports blue-tooth and, with a mode button on its bottom, can switch between two computers within a range of 10 meters.

While a simple design gives the mouse a smart look, the anodized aluminum finish makes the mouse resistant to scratches and other damage.

It weighs 77.5 grams, even after batteries have been added. When the time comes to change the batteries, the cover can be conveniently slid open instead of being removed, adding to the convenience of changing batteries.

The mouse is also equipped with a photoelectric sensor that allows users to use it on surfaces such as tables, clouded glass, paper and cloth.

In addition, Xiaomi portable mouse can be connected to other products of the brand – including televisions, tablets, and smartphones.

Xiaomi, with 70.8 million units shipped in 2015, used to be the world’s fifth largest smartphone maker, but it lost that title for the first two quarters of this year. In Q2 2016, Xiaomi, with a shipment of 10.5 million, suffered a YoY decline of 38.4%.

Nevertheless, the company has been offering a variety of new products that are moderately priced, particularly products other than smartphones – this mouse being a good example.
